OMGWTFBBQ SENSE OF HUMOR ON DIS HER PAEG

Space Tree Wiki is pretty much 2 craz-e 2 be true.</noobspeak partially> I mean like, no brackets? Lack of little more detail? Skinl Lanretxe? WTF?! -Markie 22:30, 27 Sep 2005 (EDT)

SpacedTree: Oh, right right, I know what you mean. The hell you talking about?

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!

Seriously, though. FIGUER TI OTU. -Markie 17:51, 28 Sep 2005 (EDT)

latest episode template

could some admin include this line in the main page:

Latest Episode: {{Template:Latest Episode}}

It displays the recent episode and can also be changed by non-admins.

Idea stolen taken from the BSwiki

TCIC (Talk to me / Stuff I did)

I've made the main page more BSWiki-like. --Steve (talk) 21:36, 28 Oct 2005 (EDT)

Pretty sweet. --Steve (talk) 12:19, 5 Nov 2005 (EST)

Copy the wikipedia more

It would be nice if we had some more of the wikipedia's features. I would love to slap the 'cleanup needed' template on a few pages, for one.

You can create one if you'd like. --Steve (talk) 15:13, 12 Dec 2005 (EST)
We already have a cleanup template since the 25 July. Here are all of our templates. What else do we need?

Admin only page?

Is there a page that only the admins can see and edit? I wanted to point out that I put a major IP range block into effect recently to stop that one person who made nonsense edits, and it appears to be working, but I wanted to mention some other things. And now I cant think of them. Phooey. --Rgb9000 16:22, 31 Dec 2005 (EST)

I guess we don't have such a page. I could only offer to create some kind of mailing list of all the admin's email adresses for this kind of not-public-talks-of-admins.

New Policies

Due to the recent bouts of vandalism, we should TOTALLY implement this. Should cut it down quite a lot. Metawiki

This is final

We lost yesterday's edits or something, but we're now at the final configuration, so it won't happen again. Edit freely. --Steve (talk) 14:34, 11 Jun 2006 (EDT)

This also seemed to have happened at the GEOwiki and the EJABWiki, but not at the BSWiki.
Also, I still can't edit certain pages (e.g. The Sanctity, Characters). When I press the save page or even preview button, I still get a 403 error.
TCIC (Talk to me / Stuff I did) 14:44, 11 Jun 2006 (EDT)
That's weird. No clue why it's doing that. --Steve (talk) 19:58, 11 Jun 2006 (EDT)
I also tried editing as another account and as an anonymous user, both didn't work. So far, it happened on The Sanctity, Characters and Serious Kidnapping. Can you, or any other user reading this, edit those pages? This whole thing started since the wiki reopened on the 10. June, even before some edits were lost. The error says:
"You don't have permission to access /index.php on this server."
TCIC (Talk to me / Stuff I did) 08:17, 12 Jun 2006 (EDT)
Fixed. --Steve (talk) 16:01, 12 Jun 2006 (EDT)
Works fine now, Thanks
TCIC (Talk to me / Stuff I did) 17:44, 12 Jun 2006 (EDT)

Whew, I was worried when I got error messages accessing the site. Anyway, we seem to need a new category: episodes with cuss words. It is becoming a little unwieldly to list them all out in each instance's remark section. --Rgb9000 02:18, 13 Jun 2006 (EDT)

Nah, I dont think we need a category for that. How about you just create a new page like Swearing or Cursing or something with a list of both censored and uncensored swearing. The episode page would then include the line "This is another instance of (un)censored swearing" or something like that.
TCIC (Talk to me / Stuff I did) 14:20, 13 Jun 2006 (EDT)

captcha here, too

We just had the first Spam here since weeks. Seems to be the same guy the spammed the CSWiki. Since ConfirmEdit worked so good over there, I suggest we get it here, too. (and we could also use a mediawiki-upgrade, in fact we'd need it for the Captcha)
TCIC (Talk to me / Stuff I did) 17:03, 19 Jul 2006 (EDT)

I must go back in time!

To quote the commander, what the hell just happened?!? All the changes and updates that were made since the merger have been undone! I had finished the transcript for timebomb and made other changes, but the recent changes page only has data from today! Did something happen to the wiki? Is the data lost or pending a restore?

--Rgb9000 12:26, 20 September 2006 (MDT)

Yeah, I noticed that, too. Cozza probably took the sql-dump porplemontage gave him when moving the server, without the changes. I just backed up PinkFrosting88 Timebomb Clouds Reginald Reginald Variations Space Tree Variations Commander Variations Allon Variations User:The Commander IN COMMAND User:SpeshWiki Robot Keentoons Joel and Phil Seasons Greetings To You using special:export just in case this happens again.
TCIC (Talk to me / Stuff I did) 12:43, 20 September 2006 (MDT)
My apologies - I changed web-hosts. The old one renewed when I didn't want it to, so I had to cancel that before I could get the new one. Unfortunately, I didn't expect it to terminate immediately, and I didn't download a back-up of the wiki databases because I wanted to do so as close to the shut-down as possible - since they can get updates quite frequently. subsequently, all the updates since I got the files from Steve are gone. Again, I would like to apologise for the inconvenience. --Cozza 20:16, 20 September 2006 (MDT)
I just noticed, since I also read the RSS-Feed of the recent changes, my RSS-Reader saved some (but not all) lost changes. I'll just repost them now and also mention the actual author. Unfortunately for Rgb, for some reason, I can't find your transcript, I'm sorry.
TCIC (Talk to me / Stuff I did) 02:56, 21 September 2006 (MDT)
Cozza- I see. Thats unfortunate, but I understand. TCIC: T_T Thats OK, I'm quite glad that you were able to save a lot of the data.

--User:Rgb9000 20:20, 21 September 2006 (MDT)

So am I --Cozza 02:32, 22 September 2006 (MDT)
Good. Also, could you (Cozza) try to install our CAPTCHA system again? I think it got lost during the server movement. We don't have any spam here so far, but it will come someday someday.... It can be found here http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/ConfirmEdit_extension, we used to have this add-two-numbers-CAPTCHA, which worked fine.
TCIC (Talk to me / Stuff I did) 14:47, 24 September 2006 (MDT)
No need. I just had to add a line to LocalSettings. Works fine, now.

ATTENTION!

I have just noticed that the Space Tree article has been deleted from Wikipedia! I missed the proposed delete vote, but needless to say I am upset that so much of our work was thrown away. Does anyone know how to escalate this for reconsideration?

--Rgb9000 21:06, 21 December 2006 (MST)

Yeah, that sucks. They say it's not notable, according to one of their guidelines: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WP:WEB. Since some guys at wikipedia won't move away from WP:WEB, I don't really see any chances on getting Space Tree back, e.g. see this:

Strong Delete - I am sick and tired of seeing these Keentoons articles be recreated. IT FAILS WP:WEB, IF YOU HAVEN'T NOTICED. Some large fanbase does not change the fact that Bonus Stage isn't notable enough for Wikipedia. Does Legendary Frog have an article? No. Why? Because even though he has this huge fanbase, it is not enough for an article on Wikipedia. How about Knox? He gets at least 3 views on his website per second. It changes nothing. WP:WEB specifically states that for such a thing to have Wikipedia notability, it has to have media re-prints of press releases and advertising for the content or site. Bonus Stage has no such thing. Legendary Frog has no such thing. Knox has no such thing. Space Tree has no such thing. Bonus Stage is simply cruft on Wikipedia and is not notable enough.

MP3 Files

This question has nothing to do with Space Tree or the wiki, but I need help. I'm trying to upload some of my music to links. Like in here: http://spacetree.koepfel.de/FixingaRobot.mp3. How do I upload my own songs to links like that one?

24.151.40.232 11:31, 20 August 2007 (MDT)

http://koepfel.de is my website on which I also host some Space Tree related stuff. I uploaded them myself, other people cannot use it.
You can host your songs on free file hosting services (e.g. http://putfile.com), or you can set up your own webspace somewhere. http://www.freewebspace.net/search/power.shtml has a huge list of free webhosters.
TCIC (Talk to me / Stuff I did) 12:56, 20 August 2007 (MDT)

Actually I need it to specifically be a link which has a gray bar with a circle going to the end as the audio plays. (Exactly like in the link I posted, only with my selected song.) You see I'm making a theme music player for my MySpace. The music player site said I need to post links to the audio files. I think by that they mean something like the link I posted.

24.151.40.232 00:31, 25 August 2007 (MDT)
This gray bar has nothing to do with the server the file is hosted on. The gray bar is a browser plugin that is installed and runs on your computer (e.g. quicktime player, windows media player or mplayer). If you want to embed the file on some site, putfile probably isn't the site to use, afaik, they don't allow hotlinking. However, this one seems to allow hotlinking, maybe you want to try this.

merge songs articles

I don't have a clue about how things are done here but I believe that...

this: http://stwiki.coramaximus.com/Music
this: http://stwiki.coramaximus.com/Category:Songs
and to a lesser extent this: http://stwiki.coramaximus.com/Downloads

...need to be merged together.

--86.144.147.69 09:43, 24 August 2007 (MDT)
Well Category:Songs is just a list, while Music is an article. I gotta admit that this article also contains the list of songs, but is also has minor music like the theme song (even though the link to the mp3 is currently dead). It needs work, but it is more than just a list. As for Downloads, I'll simply put a link to Music.
TCIC (Talk to me / Stuff I did) 15:14, 24 August 2007 (MDT)

Ok, I just changed the list in music to a table, as the list was a bit messy, It took me ages!! --86.144.147.69 06:22, 25 August 2007 (MDT)

Yeah, looks good. Also, on Space Tree Wiki:FAQ, you linked some pages way to comlicated: Internal pages can be linked like this: [[Page to link to]]. If the link should say something else than the page it links to, use [[Page to link to|title]]
