Well I guess this is the only place to put this.

I've got a couple of questions. Who's idea was this to move STwiki here and start actually doing suff on it? Also, where has that one guy been? I don't know his name here but I know him as roger and dark scythe. I think his name might have been Astray but on friday I left for the weekend and before I left I e-mailed him saying we should start updating STwiki (the one hosted at porplemontage.net) but he never responded so I'm maybe thinking this wasn't his doing. --Mr.K 02:06, 1 Aug 2005 (EDT)

It was me. I did it. --Steve (talk) 02:35, 1 Aug 2005 (EDT)

Ok well it's good that somebody's actually done something. I'm going to start working on it today. --Mr.K 13:03, 1 Aug 2005 (EDT)

We need more sysops

Dear Porple:

Please consider me for the position of Sysop. I was the one who proposed the creation of this wiki, and I have added and edited scores of pages.

Thank you for your consideration. --Rgb9000 02:48, 25 Sep 2005 (EDT)

Okay. --Steve (talk) 17:30, 25 Sep 2005 (EDT)

Thanks! I won't disappoint!

hey u

hey

bot approval

I set up a bot called User:SpeshWiki Robot. This bot uses the Python Wikipediabot Framework, which can be found here. All I did so far was playing around in the sandbox and testing a script that replaces words. The bot could also be used to rename categories, like the Commander Filmography. But it would be useful, too, if the bot gets registered as a bot, so that his changes can be switched off in the recent changes. Thanks.

Is it possible to set it as a bot in this version of MediaWiki?n --Steve (talk) 20:44, 20 Apr 2006 (EDT)
It should be possible. But there is no general interface for assigning bot status as it is for assigning sysop status. If you want to assign another status than sysop, you have to edit the sql database manually, either via a command line or via phpmyadmin. How to do this can be seen at this page. The robot's user ID is 63. You have to enter this line:
UPDATE user_rights SET ur_rights="bot" WHERE ur_user=63;
This should work.

Alright, I've executed the query. --Steve (talk) 17:44, 21 Apr 2006 (EDT)
That worked. I just made a test edit in the sandbox and it is not visible in the recent changes (unless you turn on show bots)
Thanks.

Hey, man. Guess what?

I "made" the STnav template. Just thought you'd like to know.

-Eric the Rexman - Tuesday, May 2, 2006

Fixed it for you. --Steve (talk) 01:38, 3 May 2006 (EDT)
I guess we'll be discussing the template here.
Anyway, I changed the template again. Now you have to enter:
{{STnav|the name of the html-file|prev episode|next episode}}
the http://spacetree.com/ and the .html will be added by the template.
The SpeshWiki Robot is currently changing all episode pages to this.
TCIC (Talk to me / Stuff I did) 16:22, 3 May 2006 (EDT)
Why did you do that? There's no point to the next/previous episode thing. The episode titles work fine. --Steve (talk) 21:49, 3 May 2006 (EDT)

Hey, Steve! I was just writing to say thanks for hosting this wiki for the community and all the vandalism you've undone. And for making me a sysop, I think that I have been able to help more because of it. I see you've been a little more active lately and hope you can contribute more. Thanks for everything, --Rgb9000 01:35, 18 May 2006 (EDT)

No problem. --Steve (talk) 06:50, 18 May 2006 (EDT)
